about

At the end of last year, we were privileged to officially welcome Z:N, Boom Jinx, and Katrine Stenbekk to our imprint, as they graced us with the achingly beautiful "Come Alive," with Boom Jinx himself delivering a deeper take on the same single release. Although we were reluctant to reinterpret a timeless deep-progressive ballad, we ultimately challenged veteran sensation Terry Da Libra and more recent recruit to our core roster, (the wonderful) A.M.R, to lend their talents to "Come Alive." The result is a gorgeous pair of renderings, which honor the spirit of the original composition, while also showcasing these two extraordinary remixers' distinctive compositional gifts.

Virtuosic Greek musician Terry Da Libra has awed our community of late with emotive, nuanced productions that transcend his peak-hour progressive trance trajectory of yesteryear. Recently venturing into deeper territory with such standout contributions as "Nightfall," an early 2019 favorite of Armin van Buuren and Ruben de Ronde, Terry treats us to another lush, deep-flavored progressive masterpiece via his "Come Alive" remix. Centering on a gentle, yet groovy and uptempo bassline that effortlessly propels the entire arrangement, Terry's take opens with a variety of blissful layers, including a signature dancing arp line; meanwhile, Stenbekk's poignant vocal performance retains its stirring character, though, at times, feel slightly more uplifting, when backed by some of Terry's more sparking flourishes. The main breakdown features the original chorus with a signature (breathtaking) string accompaniment from Terry, who resolves the patiently crescendoing soundscape with a euphonious drop section.

Arguably our breakthrough artist of 2018, given his two unforgettable EPs ("Orchids" and "Silver Lining"), Qatari phenom A.M.R invokes the dirgeful essence of the original version, while also contributing unique textures of his own, including a completely reimagined broken-beat groove. Melancholic strings, an artist signature, establish the wistful tone in the early going and serve to accentuate Katrine Stenbekk's vulnerable vocal performance to follow. The somber contemplation of a lost loved one reaches its emotional peak in the extended main breakdown section and equally heartrending final refrain: "Tell me, where are you? Where are you?" Electronic music rarely achieves such a profound level of emotional honesty.
