For our next release, we are proud to welcome UK-based artist Halftribe, who with this EP, "Memory Module", showcases 6 distinct and enjoyable ambient cuts.

The first song, "Outward Momentum", takes off with a stunning soundscape comprised of magnificent sound effects and delicious pad lines. In "Shinjuku To Singibashi", a haunting atmosphere is quickly established, and throughout the track the listener is embraced with beautiful textures and gorgeous melodic patterns. "Riviera Fantasy" begins with a number of breathtaking pad stabs, while unique and hypnotizing vocal stems add further texture to the soundscape. Gorgeous piano notes introduce "Francis", in which a fascinating atmosphere quickly builds up. While myriad stunning sound effects continue to emerge, the piano melody beautifully adds further texture to the song. Subtle, yet intriguing melodies quickly build in "You Broke My Robot Heart", and refreshing percussion elements enhance the atmosphere further. Later, hypnotizing female vocal stems blissfully spice up the mix. Last but not least, "Beautiful Accidents" consists of a stunning soundscape, including truly mesmerizing pad layers and Halftribe's signature sound effects. As the song progresses, numerous melodies are brilliantly integrated into the mix.

I listened to a lot of chillout and ambient music 15-20 years ago (vocal and instrumental), everything from Aphex Twin to Nightmares on Wax, and all the many compilation CDs that circulated during that time. I'm really happy that the genres blended and evolved into the type(s) of music included on this Dewtone collection--it takes me back while still looking forward. A lot of good stuff here! Scott
