It is our great pleasure to welcome Scarr. & Haen to our imprint. Dear friends who share a studio in Pune (India), these two extraordinary talents present the cinematic “Moved” EP, a four-track collection of stirring ambient-electronic works.
The EP kicks off with “A Time When Everything,” in which luminescent strings and guitar plucks evoke the romantic hues of a late-summer morning. A chilled, yet snappy groove propels the arrangement forward, as gentle pads further set the listener’s heart aglow. In the composition’s last movement, sweeping strings provide a transcendent final theme that confronts and, ultimately, embraces the transient beauty of life.
The title cut of the release, “Moved,” centers on an achingly beautiful piano motif, as a gentle kick and snare pattern offers a meditative underlying rhythm. At the song’s midpoint, the beats drop out, and the piano and string elements alone prompt us to ponder life’s existential mysteries. The percussive elements return in the final third of the arrangement, before we are treated to one final iteration of the piano score, which seems to drift off into the distance like an old friend waving his last goodbye.
The evocative “A World Before Time” begins with a foreboding guitar riff, soon joined by haunting pads and a minimalistic acoustic drum pattern. As the song slowly crescendoes, additional string themes begin to emerge, all of which accentuate the nostalgic and melancholic mood. In the song’s climactic final act, Scarr. & Haen unexpectedly deploy an especially affecting vocal motif, encircled once again by the equally heartrending orchestral themes.
Concluding the “Moved” EP, “Light” immediately reveals a variety of aforementioned Scarr. & Haen signatures, including a muted, recurring piano theme, upon which the rest of the arrangement is built. Much like the penultimate track in the EP, “A World Before Time,” this poignant composition is imbued with a suspenseful mood. In the main breakdown, loud blasts of a trumpet insinuate that the song’s protagonist is engulfed in the darkness (of an anxious mind); yet, the beautiful, fluttering melody to follow paradoxically offers a glimmer of hope that ‘light’ may permeate this cloud and liberate the mind from depressive thoughts.

Just found the sound iv'e been searching for so long. I wondered when I would listen to ambient tones and melody that combines this perfect symmetric sound.
True art.
A whole new world for many curious listeners out there. Melodic house genre has been my life since I listened to Contact by Glen Morrison in 2007 - I am now 28, and this A.M.R. album gave me the mindset of another 10+ years. mixmix1234
